Loose Gemstones / Basra Pearls

Basra Pearls

Natural pearls from the Persian Gulf — one of the rarest specialties we trade, and one of the longest-standing.

What Makes a Basra Pearl Rare

A natural pearl forms without any human intervention, inside a wild oyster, over years — no bead, no nucleus, nothing but time and chance. Long before cultured pearls existed, these were the only pearls available. Today, the historical Gulf pearl beds that produced them are largely depleted, and most pearls sold anywhere, even fine ones, are cultured.

The single most important thing a certificate should confirm is natural origin — not just "pearl," but natural pearl.

Our Approach

A Trusted Network, Built Over Decades

Natural pearls have always been part of our family's specialization — a category that rewards a trusted sourcing network and patience more than almost any other gemstone we trade, simply because so few genuine examples reach the market in any given year.
