Although Rukmani Exports was established in 1993, our family's journey with gemstones began much earlier — in 1971, when our grandfather began trading gemstones in Jaipur.
Where It Began
Our family's relationship with gemstones started with trading — the patient, relationship-built work of knowing which stones were genuine, which brokers could be trusted, and which buyers valued honesty over a quick sale. There was no advertising in those early years. There didn't need to be. Reputation moved through Jaipur's gemstone community the way it always has — one honest transaction at a time.
Building Trust in Jaipur's Markets
Our father took that foundation and built something durable: a shop in Jaipur's local gemstone market, and a network of B2B buyers and brokers that would come to define the family's standing for decades. In Jaipur's gemstone community, buyers often came to trust our father's expert evaluation of a stone as a meaningful complement to laboratory testing — a reputation earned, not claimed.
Named After Our Great-Grandmother
In 1993, we established Rukmani Exports — named after our great-grandmother — specifically to bring this family's expertise to international markets. The name was a deliberate choice: a reminder that this business was never just a transaction ledger, but an extension of family values — integrity, respect, and relationships that last.

Today, the third generation leads Rukmani Exports into its next chapter — bringing modern transparency, education, and digital excellence to a business built on trust. We also brought something new into the family tradition: hands-on artisanal craftsmanship, shaping fine gemstones with the same care our family has always brought to evaluating them — a natural evolution of expertise, not a departure from it.
